Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Boulderinghalls.com
About the Directory
What is Boulderinghalls.com?
Boulderinghalls.com is a climber-focused world directory of indoor bouldering halls. For each hall we list:
- Opening hours (regular schedule + any closure exceptions)
- Day-pass price with a "last verified" date
- Location and amenities
- A human-written editorial description
Our goal is a single reliable place where "is it open and what does it cost?" always has a clear, up-to-date answer.
How are halls selected and reviewed?
Boulderinghalls.com is editor-curated — there are no auto-generated hall pages. We apply a coverage gate: a city only appears in the directory once every hall in that city has a complete entry (confirmed hours, verified price, and written editorial description).
Our five MVP launch cities — Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Amsterdam, and London — are the first to clear this gate (~23 halls total).
Hall Owners & Corrections
I run a hall — how do I claim or correct my listing?
Contact us via the contact page or directly at support@boulderinghalls.com.
Factual corrections (hours, prices, address, amenities) are verified and applied within 7 days of receipt. Opinions and editorial descriptions stand.
I want to submit a hall — how?
You can submit a hall via the submit form. Once submitted, our editorial team reviews the entry and adds opening hours, pricing, and an editorial description before the hall goes live.
Coverage & Cities
Why isn't my city listed?
We apply an editorial coverage gate: a city only enters the directory, sitemap, and homepage once every hall in that city has a complete entry. Our five MVP launch cities are Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Amsterdam, and London. Other cities follow once we reach full coverage.
When you browse an uncovered city, we show the nearest covered cities as a fallback so you're never left with an empty page.
Pricing & Data Freshness
What does 'day pass price last verified' mean?
The "last verified" date tells you when we last confirmed the price against the gym's own source (website, phone, or in-person visit). Prices change — this date helps you judge how fresh the information is. If you notice a price is out of date, let us know via the contact page.
Photos & Content
Do you accept user-uploaded photos?
No. Gallery photos on hall pages are sourced and verified by our editorial team. We do not accept public user-uploaded gallery photos in this version. This ensures every photo has a documented source and meets our quality bar. Hall owners who want to submit photos for their listing can contact us directly.
Why are some halls marked 'remote-researched'?
A "remote-researched" hall means our editorial team compiled the entry from the hall's official website, Google Maps, and other public sources — rather than an in-person visit. We flag this for transparency. Hours and prices are still verified against authoritative sources; the editorial description is based on publicly available information.
